About me

Hi, I'm Hilary. I'm a Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant based in Perth, Western Australia. 

I'm also an arts and events manager, producer and practitioner, with almost 20 years experience in the industry... so I really know how to plan moving and exciting experiences, of any scale, and have the expertise to deliver.

I've always loved to celebrate! I've always loved finding the special elements in life, in friendship, and in love. The small and overlooked details, and shine a light on them. It's these things that we often overlook... but which create the most potent and profound essence of a story.

I love finding those details and crafting a ceremony that you and your loved ones will feel inspired and moved by, and cherish.

I became a marriage celebrant in 2020 after completing my certification with Qualtrain Australia, before being accepted as a Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrant.

Before my joint-career as a celebrant and arts professional, I was a professional Irish dancer myself, performing in a number of international touring productions.

When I retired, I studied Arts Management at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and have since worked for a range of iconic West Australian arts organisations including West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Perth Festival, West Australian Ballet, and Co3 Contemporary Dance, to name a few.

I'm incredibly passionate about the arts and am inspired every day by the incredible artists I'm privileged to work with.

I'm also still closely connected to Irish dancing and am a qualified teacher and adjudicator of The Commission of Irish Dance (Dublin) and am Vice-President of the Australian Irish Dancing Association.

I love using elements of art, culture and heritage, to make ceremonies especially meaningful and engaging. That's the art of celebration.
